Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our services, appointments, fees, and preparations for scans and tests. Learn what to expect and how to make the most of your visit.
Our cardiologists are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. As part of this commitment, they charge a private consultation fee, with a portion reimbursable through Medicare. Since all our cardiologists are independent medical practitioners, consultation fees may vary between doctors. Discounted rates are available for eligible patients on an Aged or Disability Pension and for patients with financial difficulties. Holders of a DVA gold card will not incur out of pocket expenses.

To help keep essential cardiac care accessible, our cardiologists have independently chosen to bulk bill certain common adult cardiac tests—such as Transthoracic Echocardiograms, ECGs, and Holter Monitors—for patients who meet Medicare eligibility criteria. Additionally, we can process any Medicare rebate claims on the day of your appointment to ensure you receive your reimbursement without delay.
When you arrive at the clinic, our receptionist will collect necessary referral letters, investigation results, as well as personal and Medicare details. To allow enough time, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Your consultation with the doctor will last approximately 30 minutes. If your doctor recommends additional cardiac investigations, these will be scheduled after your appointment based on your availability and the availability of our cardiac technicians. In most cases, our technicians are on-site the same day, allowing us to accommodate urgent tests whenever possible.

If a cardiac investigation is required, please allow an additional 30 minutes with our sonographer to complete the necessary tests.
On the day of your appointment, please bring your Medicare, DVA, or Pension card, along with any relevant medical information. This includes:
  • Your referral letter
  • Any relevant pathology and radiology results
  • A list of all medications you take, including prescription, over-the-counter, herbal supplements, and vitamins (or bring the medication boxes)
  • A list of all specialists involved in your care
  • Any recent hospital discharge summaries or medical correspondence

Important Reminder: We cannot process your Medicare claim without a valid referral from your GP or Specialist, along with your Medicare card details.

Unlike Medicare, Private Health Insurance in Australia typically covers inpatient services, such as hospital admissions and medical procedures performed in a hospital setting. However, outpatient services—including GP and specialist appointments—are generally not covered by private health insurers.

For a clearer understanding of your coverage, we recommend contacting your Private Health Insurer directly.

If inpatient care is required, your cardiologist will discuss the available options for hospital admission and procedures at both public and private hospitals.
